South Bank Brisbane
Posted by ben on 1st September , 2009Hi All, some great news as I have found a site and signed the lease on a place on the south Bank in Brisbane. Its an awesome sight looking straight over the beach pool. Probably a few months of opening hopefully around the end of November early December! We had been toying with the name “South Bank surf club” but not convinced so I thought I would put it out to tender see if you guys could come up with something? I am all ears!!
Hey Ben. Congrats on securing a site for your restauarant is brisvegas. Was just at southbank trying to work out where you mean. Is it above the newsagent? Can’t wIt to try your food again. Your pies in London were great!
what about just ‘The Surf Club’ or ‘The Flags’.

What about “Southbank on Thames”? or “Big Ben”? a little connection to your cooking roots? … Or if you are looking for the Beachy Theme – “Balmy Bens”.
Hi Ben, Congratulations on the shop, it’s a brilliant spot to be situated and being in Southbank which already had thousands of people every day is a great drawcard!
A good friend Ann-Mariee Daniels gave me the heads up that you are on the lookout for staff and I would like to enquire about a position as an apprentice chef. I am aiming to enrol at HTA early next year and am presently working with my current employers to open a restaurant this week! Hi Ben, thanks for hosting the lights off luncheon, I was wondering if you will be looking into, (forgive me if you have) eliminating blue fin, big eye, yellow fin tuna etc. from your menus? The CITES conference that just wrapped up was an atrocious look into how quickly big business can take over a good cause. I was shocked the opening party menu for the delegates was blue fin tuna. Even more shocked when most countries didn’t send scientist as part of their delegation but business titans. Not shockingly they voted against any restrictions without even hearing the scientific reports. Maybe (YOU) helping to institute tuna weekends and not during the week? It apparently needs to come from the end user as a control measure. as it wont be coming from the people we had hoped to oversee the industrially massive over fishing. Peace:)

We went to your South Bank Surf Club Restaurant site this past Anzac weekend and was so disappointed to see the Restaurant wasn’t operating. The signs indicated a March 2010 opening. I havent been able to find any up to date information on your website.
