Posted by ben on 27th January , 2010Happy Australia day one and all! Enough said about our national dish, Maggie Beer thinks it should be a salad. Jill D thinks the idea of tom yum soups good? To be honest why do need to be defined by what we cook, are we that insecure? Does it matter? I think that we should be defined by our produce as are the English (Beef), the French (Chicken poulet nior. Foire Gras) we have some of the best seafood in the world and by far the best prawns and shellfish in the world. we live on the coast (well most of us) so just chuk another shrimp on the Barbie and love being who we are!!!
Hi Ben, Have just read the new delicious magazine and we’re very excited to hear about your new restaurant. We love “the best in australia” and my husband especially loves cooking and trying out all the recipes. I turn 40 on friday and have already had a huge 80s party on the beach in northern nsw to celebrate, including a barbeque feast, and have the hideous photo’s to prove it. Look forward to checking out your restaurant, yum.

the best shrimp/prawns are from the southern med. I
sorry mate, i hit the wrong button, st patricks day in the USA to blame, followed by checking on an old mates progress. Have had a few SAM ADAMS EZESSSEEZESS. Anyway, THE best shrimp/prawns, shellfish I have tasted are in the MED. Those red critter prawns that I have eaten in the southe of ITALY, absolutuley the tastiest in the entire world. Yamba comes comes close though. Anyway jambalaya boy, start practising your your brun roux for a great big gumbo. Anyway don’t be a goose, call it a YAMBALAYA, ah well, I still have a fewe good ides, you and me know it. LOVE AND FOND MEMORIES.
